Your Vehicle Files Are Safe

We want to be absolutely clear: we will never "steal" your vehicles.

Our web tools (Vehicle Analyzer, Vehicle Painter, etc.) process files 100% locally in your browser. Your vehicle XML files never leave your computer and are never uploaded to our servers when using these tools.

Note: Other services like the in-game server dashboard may require you to upload or sync data with our servers. When this occurs, it will be clearly stated and require your explicit consent.

How Our Web Tools Work

  • You select a file from your computer using your browser's file picker
  • Your browser reads the file and processes it using JavaScript running locally on your device
  • Results are displayed or downloaded directly to your device
  • No server communication occurs - everything stays on your device

This applies specifically to our browser-based tools (Analyzer, Painter). Server features like the game dashboard work differently and will clearly indicate when data is being synced.

Data We Collect

StormLabs is committed to protecting your privacy. Here's what we do and don't collect:

We DO NOT Collect (via web tools):

  • Your vehicle XML files or any content from them when using browser-based tools
  • Your creations, designs, or intellectual property without your knowledge
  • Any data from local file processing tools

We MAY Collect (with your consent):

  • Basic analytics (page views, browser type) to improve the website
  • Steam account data when you sign up: Steam ID, public profile name, avatar URL, and profile link
  • Account preferences, settings, and dashboard configurations
  • Game server data related to your in-game activity if you play on our server
  • Vehicle or asset data you explicitly choose to upload or sync via dashboard features

Steam Authentication & Accounts

We use Steam OpenID for secure, password-free authentication. When you create an account:

What We Store:

  • Steam ID - Your unique Steam identifier (public information)
  • Public Profile Data - Username, avatar, profile URL
  • Discord Data (Optional) - If you link your Discord account: Discord ID, username, and profile picture URL
  • Account Activity - Creation date, last login, login count
  • User Role - Permission level (user, moderator, or developer)
  • Preferences - Your tool settings and dashboard preferences
  • Game Stats - In-game activity if you play on our server

Legal Basis: Legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) and consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a))

No Passwords! We never store passwords. Steam handles all authentication securely. We only access your public Steam profile information - nothing private, no inventory, no friends list, no email.

Account Deletion: You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard. This will permanently remove all your data from our database. This action cannot be undone.

Discord Integration (Optional)

You may optionally link your Discord account to enhance your profile and enable community features.

What Discord Data We Store:

  • Discord ID - Your unique Discord user identifier
  • Discord Username - Your current Discord display name
  • Profile Picture URL - Link to your Discord avatar image

We do not store your Discord email, friends list, server memberships, or any other Discord data.

Fully Optional & Reversible: Linking Discord is completely optional. You can unlink your Discord account at any time from your settings page, which will immediately delete all Discord data from our database.

Legal Basis: Consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)) - Discord linking requires your explicit permission via OAuth flow.
